What personal information do we collect and why we collect it?
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”
We only collect personal information directly related to our activities. Wherever possible, such information will be collected directly from the individual about whom it pertains. The amount and the type of the information collected will be limited to that which is needed to fulfil the identified purpose(s).

Additionally, we may collect your name, email address and opinions or responses in connection with a particular survey.
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
• Cookies: are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier.

• Web beacons, tags, and pixels: are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
Personal User Information
Please note that we may use the Contact Information to communicate directly with you or provide you with information related to our services.
How do we use your personal information?
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our visitors browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our newsletter, marketing, advertising and/or social media campaigns).
Since comments are not enabled on our Site, we do not collect data related to comments from our visitors.
We collect personally identifiable information in our contact forms in order to follow up with you when you submit a query. This data is stored on our server indefinitely. This data is not shared with third-parties and may only be accessed by website administrators and editors, and by the Fondation Lavoie Foundation.
We may use various photos, videos or documents on the Site (including images, videos and documents shared with us). Please be note that web visitors could download and extract certain data from Media found on the website.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles, Publications or Posts on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
If you visit our website, we may set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
We use Google Analytics to help us understand how our visitors use the Site.

Do not track
Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.
Sharing your personal information
Our Newsletter service may have access to your coordinates such as name and email address so that we can send you news and details about our services.
On occasion, we may share info with our partners for the purpose of specific activities or events. For example, if the Foundation decided to organize a forum or a fundraising dinner with an identified partner, we may have to share info about guest lists or RSVPs for that specific purpose.
Otherwise, we do not use the information that you provide to attend our events, receive newsletters, or participate in the Fondation Lavoie community in any other way.
We will not sell or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
If you have consented to receiving our newsletter, you will receive it. You can opt out at any time. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, please click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
How long we retain your data
If you subscribe to our newsletter, your contact info is retained until you decide to unsubscribe. If you make a donation, your info will be kept for administration, legal or tax purposes.
For Editors or Collaborators that have an account on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Additionally, if you are a European resident, note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you sign up to become a member through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
